The beautiful gardens are a mixture of formal and parkland and are pleasure even for those without horticultural knowledge. The herbaceous borders are well stocked and have been lovingly tended by Geoff, the gardener, for the last twenty years. There is colour throughout the seasons and flowerbeds are complemented by shrubs and many fine, mature specimen trees including a wonderful blue cedar, a monkey puzzle, a ghinko and variety of flowering cherries. The main drive is flanked with mature limes and there is a remarkable avenue of pleached limes on the south lawn. The front of the house boasts two magnificent magnolias at their best in April and May.
The Grange has an outdoor, heated swimming pool with a changing room attached to it. Adjacent to the pool is a hot tub and sauna. There is also a hard tennis court and croquet lawn and even a small football pitch for those who like to keep themselves trim. The remainder of the grounds are divided into paddocks. Riding for those of all standards can be provided if booked ahead.
The Grange is a majestic former Georgian Rectory, set in seventeen acres of private parkland in the attractive Somerset village of Horsington. The house has a stone-flagged main hall, four elegant reception rooms, a farmhouse kitchen with four-oven Aga, and eight bedrooms accommodating up to eighteen people.
